Le temps d’une seconde, et tous étaient perdus. Dans ses yeux nous vîmes le froid, autour de son immense crâne glissaient les nuages rendus minuscules. Nous levions les yeux comme pour contempler le plus haut donjon qu’il nous fût donné de voir. Et l’espoir rétrécissait à mesure qu’il s’élevait dans les cieux. D’aucuns ont connus des légendes, des aventures et des merveilles. Nous fîmes la rencontre de tout cela en même temps… La chance et le malheur réunis, avaient scellés notre destin.

The time of one second, and all was lost. In his eyes we saw the cold, around his huge skull slid the clouds made tiny. We looked up as if to contemplate the highest dungeon we had ever seen. And hope narrowed as it rose in the heavens. Some have known legends, adventures and wonders. We met all this at the same time ... Luck and unhappiness together, had sealed our destiny.
